Bala Tn U12's 3, TNS U12's 1

Bala got their season off to a great start by beating a talented TNS side.

It was the first game for our new U12s team and they were eager to make a positive start.

The first 15 minutes was very scrappy, with both teams trying to play football but were cancelled out with the battling spirit of each other, however, Bala made the first breakthrough with Jamie Jarvis playing in Delwyn on the right wing and he unleashed a fierce shot that crashing in off the bar to put Bala in the lead. This gave Bala confidence and the home side were starting to cause TNS problems down the left wing, mainly through Ifan, Jake and Stephen.

Bala were without their main goalkeeper Cai Emmett, therefore Rob Dascalu had to wear the gloves for the team, and he did not let us down at all; he pulled off a great save from a one-on-one with their striker, which was TNS’ main chance throughout the half.

Just before the break, Tom Mann surged forward from midfield, cut inside the defender and unleashed an unstoppable shot from the edge of the box into the top corner, 2-0.

In the second half; the hosts started to play more football and threatened more down both wings.

The next goal was always going to be crucial and it came to Bala again; Tom Mann released Tomos Jones down the middle and he took a shot from 20 yards out that appeared to be going wide, with everyone else stopping it was Jake Jones who gambled and reacted quicker than anyone else and scored from a difficult angle past the advancing goalkeeper.

In fairness to TNS they kept on attacking and were rewarded with a consolation goal as the winger took a shot, which Rob could only parry to a striker who headed the ball into the empty net.

A pleasing result for the home side, a good team performance with some strong individual performances too, which the managers would hope to see more of the same as the season progresses.

The man of the match goes to Steffan Parry today for his impressive defensive duties, just edging Jake, Rob and Ifan who also played great.
