Airbus Res. 2, Bala Tn Res. 0

Having wanted to get back to winning ways, Bala Reserves suffered a 2-0 defeat on their travels to the Airfield at Airbus.
The home team started brightly, with Bala having to work to gain any possession against a well organised team.
As the half progressed, the game became evenly balanced, with both sides getting plenty of good possesion through playing the ball around. However, poor decision making, and the lack of quality ball in the final third meant that goal scoring chances for both teams were few and far between.
With the half coming to a close, Bala were certainly getting on top of the game, but were restricted to efforts from distance by a well organised Airbus defence.
Bala should have come out optimistic for the second half, but is was the home side that took the initiative from the restart, and played some attractive football which made it hard work for Bala to get a foot hold in the match. With pressure mounting, Airbus were able to take advantage of a miss clearance in the Bala defence to take the lead with 20 mins left, and were good value for their lead on the level of pressure they had put on the visiting goal from the restart.
The introduction of fresh legs failed to spark Bala´s revival, and it wasn´t until the final 5 mins that Bala were able to put the Home keeper under constant pressure, the Goalie making a fantastic save from what seemed to be a certain equaliser from a well struck shot edge of the box.
With Bala pilling on the pressure, with several corners towards the end, they got hit on the break as Airbus advanced quickly to gain a 2v1 counter, making the game safe at the death with the final action of the match. Final Score 2-0
