Bala Tn U14's 0, Airbus UK 3

Bala started confidently today against Airbus and were playing fantastic football.

Owain, Joe and Sion made good use of the ball in midfield and were finding plenty of good space at times to create problems for the opposition. The back four were solid for the majority of the game and they managed to hold their shape excellently. This forced Airbus to shoot from distance. Well done lads.

Dani, Dan Dascalu and Luke were always looking to get involved in the game and were unlucky not to create more opportunities during the first half.

Dafydd Jones was vocal and he commanded his goalkeeping area well. Any loose balls were quickly dealt with and he was always looking to distribute the ball quickly. Da iawn.

Unfortunately having played 20 minutes, Bala went a goal down. A corner wasn’t dealt with properly and after a scramble the ball finally found the back of the net. Slight confusion but we must learn to deal with it quicker.

The boys were playing at a good tempo and were setting a high standard for themselves. They were extremely unlucky to be a goal down half time. They stuck to the game plan and werevery disciplined, keeping their shape at all times.

Second half saw six changes with Ilan, Dan Cox, Jack, Myles, Joe Dukes and Oliver coming on to replace the individuals that needed a breather. Once again, the attitude and effort of these replacements was fantastic.

At one stage of the game we fielded eight under 13 players and although the opposition were more physical, our boys made sure that they weren’t pushovers and showed that they were willing to battle hard for each other. Excellent.

In the last 20 minutes of the game we managed to create a couple of chances but struggled to find the back of the net once again.

Unfortunately Bala conceded two sloppy goals late on to make it 3 nil to Airbus. A scoreline that didn’t really reflect the way Bala performed.

It was a very good team performance today and the lads should have their heads held high. I feel the need to mention Aron,Dafydd R and Sion as I thought they were outstanding today.

Although we have improved since the last game we will look to improve once again next week. Our lesson from today is to release the ball quicker in the final third and to COMMUNICATE as a team.

Well done today lads.
