Match Preview
Buckley Town v Bala Town
Written by Hannah on Fri 27th January 12, 20:00
This weekend the Lakesiders travel to Globe Way for the 4th Round of the Welsh Cup.
Saturday´s match will be the 15th encounter between both Clubs in 10 years but neither Club have met since 2008-09 season when the Lakesiders were promoted from the Cymru Alliance to the Welsh Premier League.
Globe Way has traditionally has been a happy hunting ground for Bala Town in recent seasons with favourable results against the hosts coupled with Cymru Alliance League Cup tie triumphs against Penrhyncoch, Ruthin and Prestatyn.
Buckley Town won the league at Maes Tegid in the 2004-05 season but did not take their place in the WPL due to financial considerations.
Buckley sit 2nd in this seasons Cymru Alliance under the leadership of Gareth Thomas and are at present unbeaten in 3 matches.
Town come into the game after a league cup defeat to Airbus which followed on from 3 consecutive league wins to finish the 1st phase of the season strongly.
Last week´s match featured an experimental line-up and formation by manager Colin Caton which unfortunately went out through the window in the first couple of minutes when firstly Mark Pullman suffered a severe head injury and replacement Terry McCormick was sent off within the first 10 minutes.
On Saturday Terry McCormick will begin his 1 match ban and also Ian Sheridan, Ben Collins and Mike Sharples are cup-tied.
