Over the summer, our brand new synthetic 3G pitch is being laid by McArdle Sport Tec so to keep everyone up to date we will be posting photos on a day-to-day basis on progress at Maes Tegid!
Day 82 – Friday, 23rd September. Finished.
Day 81 – Thursday, 22nd September. Goals and dugout being erected.
Day 80 – Wednesday, 21st September. The fences are all complete and the goals are being formed!
Day 75 – Friday, 16th September.
Day 74 – Thursday, 15th September – finishing touches…
Day 71 – Monday, 12th September – the rubber pellets are going down!
Day 69 – Saturday, 10th September – the lines are complete and sand is going down!
Day 68 – Friday, 9th September – more grass appears!
Day 67 – Thursday, 8th September.
Day 66 – Wednesday, 7th September. Turf laying has begun!
Day 65 – Tuesday, 6th September. The turf has arrived! Gates are also going up.
Day 61 – Friday, 2nd September. Fencing is complete. We are ready for the ‘grass’!
Day 60 – Thursday, 1st September. Shock padding is complete!
Day 59 – Wednesday, 31st August. Fencing work and shock pad layer continues.
Day 58 – Tuesday, 30th August. Goal bases complete, fences being erected and shock padding starting to be laid.
Day 55 – Saturday, 27th August. Creating holes for the goalposts!
Day 54 – Friday, 26th August. Filling in the edging between the pitch and footpaths. Plus we had a visit from representatives from Gwynedd Council, Ysgol y Berwyn and the Bala and Penllyn Sports Association!
Day 53 – Thursday, 25th August. Quite a large delivery has arrived ready for next week!
Day 52 – Wednesday, 24th August. The asphalt is finished ready for the shockpad layer and fencing.
Day 51 – Tuesday, 23rd August. Thornbury Sports have laid around three quarters of the first layer of asphalt and finished the far path.
Day 50 – Monday, 22nd August. The asphalt has arrived! Far paths finished and the goal storage area.
Day 46 – Thursday, 18th August. Concrete work begins!
Day 40 – Friday, 12th August. Fencing posts all complete.
Day 36 – Monday, 8th August.
Day 32 – Thursday, 4th August. Fencing work continues.
Day 31 – Wednesday, 3rd August. Fencing work started by installing poles along the far side and corner in the Town end.
Day 30 – Tuesday, 2nd August. Preparation for fencing.Day 24 – Wednesday, 27th July. Stonework all complete, asphalt arriving next week. Formation of home and away dugouts created. Day 22 – Monday, 25th July. More stone work by laying a final layer of stone before the asphalt arrives.
Day 20 – Saturday, 23rd July. Finishing laying stones, installing the soak-away and forming the paths.
Day 19 – Friday, 22nd July. More stones being laid, path at far end also being formed ready for asphalt next week.
Day 18 – Thursday, 21st July. Drainage all finished, third of the way through laying stone layer, curbing around the pitch finished.
Day 17 – Wednesday, 20th July – Drainage almost complete, stones being laid.Day 16 – Tuesday, 19th July. Day 15 – Monday, 18th July. Installing the drainage! Day 13 – Saturday, 16th July. Levels finished, ready for drainage.Day 10 – Wednesday, 13th July. Preparation for levels.Day 9 – Tuesday, 12th July. Most of topsoil cleared and paths lifted ready for the drainage.
