We’ve missed you Maes Tegid…after three months, we’re BACK!

This evening, Maes Tegid will play host to a top of table clash between Bala Town and Connah’s Quay Nomads!

Nomads currently sit at the top of the pile, and are nine points adrift from The Lakesiders, however we do have a game in hand. The visitors also have an average of 2.0 goals per game, and an average of 0.57 goals conceded after their 19 games played, while on the other hand, Bala do have a greater goals scored, with 2.3 goals scored per game, although a greater goals conceded with an average of 0.94.

Nomads resumed their league campaign with a 2-1 win at home to Newtown, despite conceding early on, and then going down to 10 men shortly after. They then travelled to local rivals Flint Town, and pipped them to a 1-0 win, with a late winner from Michael Wilde. However they come into tonight’s game having being held to a 0-0 draw away to Penybont, who are sitting pretty in the top six as it stands.

Bala on the other hand have only played two games since the resumption of the league season, with trips to The New Saints and Cefn Druids. The Lakesiders kicked back off with a 0-0 draw at Park Hall against The New Saints, in a fierce battle between the two sides, and then travelled to Cefn Druids last weekend (13th of March) where The Town took all three points in a rather fiesty game A 3-1 victory for The Lakesiders despite Steven Leslie picking up a red card late on in the game, and with 10 minutes to go, we saw Danny Gosset make his first competitive appearance after recovering from non-hodgkins lymphoma.

The previous meeting between the two clubs kicked off this league season! The Lakesiders took a halftime lead by way of a Nathan Peate header, after he leaped onto Jonny Spittle’s long ball from the center circle. However, despite leading for 93 minutes of the game, Sameron Dool took matters into his own hands and hit a rocket into the top right hand corner, with no chance of Ramsay saving the ball, meaning the points were shared at the first game of the season.

It all looks set to be an interesting tie this evening, having been honours even earlier in the season, will there be a winner on this occassion?

Kick off is at 7:45pm, with live coverage coming from Sgorio’s Youtube and Facebook handles along with live updates coming from our Twitter Page and Facebook Page

We hope you all enjoy the game from the comfort of your home, and let’s grab a big three points!
