It’s been a long time coming…but we’re back!

The JD Cymru Premier returns today, with a blockbuster match up to kick us back off, as The Town travel to The New Saints and Park Hall!

Both clubs will be playing their first bit of competitive football since mid December, with the top 3 places yet to be decided…

The league table currently has Bala in third place nine points adrift from today’s opponents, however with a game in hand, that could all change in the last six fixtures of Phase 1.

The hosts look to have had a busy ‘pre-season’ with trips to Liverpool U23’s, Burnley U23’s and Stoke U23’s, whilst also playing a couple Cymru Premier sides.

Cardiff Met and Aberystwyth were the only ‘pre-season’ friendlies for The Lakesiders, with both proving good tests in Bala’s preperations for the return of competitive football. We also saw the return of Danny Gosset after recovering from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, after being diagnosed with the disease just under two years ago.

The New Saints also dipped into the Transfer Market during the January Window, as they secured the signature of Adam Roscrow from AFC Wimbledon in League One, with the 26 year old coming back for his second spell in the Cymru Premier, having left Cardiff Met in 2019 to join The Dons.

The Lakesiders also dipped into the Transfer Market, with the acquisition of Jack Mackreth on Deadline Day from Warrington Town, however there were more outs than in’s at Maes Tegid, with Gary Roberts departing at the start of the Window, where he joined Accrington Stanley, but is now First Team Coach at Ipswich Town. Jon Rushton and Llyr Morris also departed on loan moves to Flint Town and Colwyn Bay respectively.

This match up will be unofficially the 3rd time the clubs have met this season, however the first meeting back at the end of September was abandoned due to flood light failure at Maes Tegid, with the score standing at 2-2 the game was replayed at start of November, however the outcome was the same, with both clubs picking up a point in a 1-1 draw.

It looks all set to be great match up to kick start the league back up!

Kick off is at 5:00pm, with live coverage coming from Sgorio on S4C along with live updates coming from our Twitter Page and Facebook Page

We hope you all enjoy the game, and let’s grab a big three points!
