Despite the current Cymru Premier season being halted, the Winter Transfer Window was still open for clubs to do their business.
As the Transfer Window came to it’s climax on Deadline Day, the Lakesiders still had some business to do…
The club managed to bring in one new signing, with two players going out on loan.
John Rushton joined Flint Town on loan until the end of the season, as John made just the two appearances since signing for the Town back in October. He was vital in a 2-0 away win at Newtown, where he pulled off some great saves to keep a clean sheet on his debut.
Also heading out on loan is Llyr Morris, who’s joined Colwyn Bay until the end of the season. Llyr made five appearances off the bench for the Lakesiders since joining from Ruthin Town in August of last year.
On the other hand, the club are delighted to announce the signing of Jack Mackreth, who signs for the Lakesiders after leaving Warrington Town. The 28 year old joins the Town having played for clubs such as his boyhood club Tranmere Rovers, Macclesfield Town, Grimsby Town, Barrow AFC and Wrexham AFC. Jack has played as high as League One in the English Football League, however played most of his career in the National League. We can’t wait to see Jack in action once the Cymru Premier season resumes!
Also joining the Lakesiders is former player, Matthew Boswell, who returns having played for the club in the 2013-2014 season, where he would make two appearances for the club. Welcome back to Maes Tegid Matthew!
And that’s it for Deadline Day from Maes Tegid… We’d like to wish both John Rushton and Llyr Morris all the best in their loan moves and hope they’re successful at their respective clubs.
