Gethin Jones who previously worked with Porthmadog has joined Bala Town Football Club as our new Community Football Co-ordinator

We are delighted to announce Gethin Jones as our new Community Football Co-ordinator.

Gethin spoke about his joy of joining the club by saying this:
“Hello, I am delighted to anounce that I have accepted a role to become the new Bala Town Community Co-Ordinator. I have been involved in community football now for over seven years now firstly with the Racecourse Foundation and most recently with CPD Porthmadog. I am proud to have set up many different projects with the help of different organisations during this time and raising participation especially players that were new to the game. The different projects included establishing educational workshops in schools such as health and well being and numeracy through football projects. I have also been involved in establishing girls only teams starting off with just a turn up a play centre with only a few attending to now over 50 registered players. I have recently just been awarded with the North Wales fun football provider of the year in 2019 and i also lead my organisation to the same award nationally in 2017. When I received a phone call from Carwyn and we spoke on the phone for some length what is going on currently at the club and what he would like to see happen. It was a easy decision for me as i felt the partnership between the club and myself could really be a good one and benefit lots of people. I am looking forward to working with a club such as Bala Town and to promote the football club in the local community and surrounding area. It is a very challenging time currently with the covid-19 outbreak but i really believe that football will be needed more than ever to help peoples physical and mental well being. I can’t wait to get started. Thank you”

Our Head Of Coaching and Bala Town’s Academy Manager Carwyn Edwards, had this to say about Gethin’s appointment;
“As a club we are happy to have Gethin joining, he is a coach who has had plenty of success and plenty of experience in community football with his great work with Port in recent seasons, I’m glad he agreed to come to Bala and I’m looking forward to working with him”
Welcome to Maes Tegid Gethin!

Mae Gethin Jones pwy oedd yn gweithio gyda Porthmadog, wedi ymuno a Chlwb Pel-Droed Tref Y Bala fel ein Prif Hyfforddwr Pêl-droed Cymunedol

Rydym yn falch iawn o gyhoeddi Gethin Jones fel ein Prif Hyfforddwr Pel-Droed Cymunedol.

Siaradodd Gethin am ei lawenydd o ymuno a’r clwb trwy ddweud hyn:

“Helo, mae’n bleser gen i gyhoeddi fy mod i wedi derbyn rôl i ddod yn Gydlynydd Cymunedol CPD Tref y Bala. Rwyf wedi bod yn ymwneud â phêl-droed cymunedol nawr ers dros saith mlynedd bellach yn gyntaf gyda cpd wrecsam ac yn fwyaf diweddar gyda CPD Porthmadog. Rwy’n falch fy mod wedi sefydlu llawer o wahanol brosiectau gyda’r help o gwahanol sefydliadau yn ystod yr amser hwn a cynyddu cyfranogiad yn enwedig chwaraewyr a oedd yn newydd i’r gêm. Yr gwahanol brosiectau rydw i wedi sefydlu yn cynnwys sefydlu gweithdai addysgol mewn ysgolion fel iechyd a lles a rhifedd trwy pêl-droed. Rwyf hefyd wedi bod yn rhan o sefydlu timau merched yn unig gan ddechrau hefo sesiynau wythnosol a dim ond ychydig yn mynychu i nawr dros 50 o chwaraewyr cofrestredig. Yn ddiweddar, rwyf newydd gael gwobr darparwr pêl-droed hwyliog gogledd cymru y flwyddyn yn 2019 ac rwyf hefyd yn arwain fy sefydliad i wobr genedlaethol yn 2017.Pan dderbyniais alwad ffôn gan Carwyn a buom yn siarad ar y ffôn am dipyn yn siarad beth sy’n digwydd yn y clwb ar hyn o bryd a beth hoffai ei weld yn digwydd. Yr oedd penderfyniad syml i mi gan fy mod yn teimlo y gallai’r bartneriaeth rhwng y clwb a minnau fod yn un da a bod o fudd i lawer o bobl. Rwy’n edrych ymlaen at weithio gyda clwb fel Bala Town ac i hyrwyddo yn y gymuned ac yr ardal gyfagos. Mae’n gyfnod heriol iawn gyda ar hyn o bryd yr achos covid-19 ond rydw i wir yn credu y bydd angen pêl-droed yn fwy nag erioed i helpu lles corfforol a meddyliol pobl. edrych ymlaen i cychwyn. Diolch”

Dywedodd ein Penaeth Hyfforddi a Rheolwr Academi Tref Y Bala, Carwyn Edwards hyn i’w ddweud am benodiad Gethin;
“Fel clwb rydym yn falch o gael Gethin yn ymuno, mae o yn hyfforddwr sydd wedi gael digon o llwyddiant ag efo digon o profiad mewn pêl-droed cymunedol efo’i waith gwych efo Port yn y tymorau dwytha, dwi’n falch ei fod o wedi cytuno dod i Bala ag dwi’n edrych ymlaen weithio efo fo”
