Earlier today we revealed that Nathan Peate has joined the Club from Cefn Druids.

We caught up with our new centre half about joining the Lakesiders and his plans for the 2020/21 season.

“Thanks alot for the warm welcome. Signing for Bala is ambitious, it’s a step forward and a move which will help me develop as a player. Every year Bala challenge for the League and all competitive cups and I’m itching to be involved” Peate told us when we asked about his thoughts of joining the Club.

Nathan has been one of the League’s stand-out defenders with consistent performances during his three years at Cefn Druids. With Europa League and Wales C experiences also under his belt, what was it that prompted a switch to Maes Tegid?

“Signing for Cefn Druids 3 years ago gave me my first taste of playing Cymru Premier league football. I played regularly and secured my position weekly, and I cant thank them enough” Nathan began.

“I’ve made many memories and met great people, but I’m no spring chicken any more, so when an offer to play for Bala Town came, I thought for myself personally if was time for a new challenge.”

“It’s always a tough game playing against Bala with them being one of the best teams in the league and I can’t wait to be part of that” he added.

Peate is Town’s third addition of the summer window following Will Evans and Alex Ramsay who have already signed over the last couple of weeks. Nathan explains that he is already looking forward to playing alongside his fellow new signings.

“The signings of Will Evans and Alex Ramsey will strengthen the squad undoubtedly. Being a defender I’ve battled against Will regularly, he’s exciting and will bring lots of options for Bala going forward.”

He continued “I got the chance to play with Alex last year for Wales C, even managing to sneak one past him myself. Known for his giant kick, he’s one of the best in the league, and his communication will do nothing but help the back four.”

His stints at Llandudno and Druids saw Nathan feature in three European matches to date, so how does he feel about embarking on another European adventure with the Lakesiders?

“Playing European football is a huge achievement, I’ve been lucky enough to play in Sweden and Lithuania, but with Bala having such a good season I will get the opportunity to join them and experience it all again.”

“Playing in Europe will give me the opportunity to go away and bond with the lads, aswell as making memories for the club. Hopefully we don’t have to wait too long” he responded.

With Nathan eager to get underway, we asked him what his ambitions are to achieve with the Lakesiders and what can the Town supporters expect from him?

“I won’t be making Sgorio highlights for any step overs but they can expect my all and hopefully that’ll help to bring success to Maes Tegid” Nathan concluded.
