Our Reserves hit 5 past Johnstown!

Maes Tegid saw our Reserves pick up a massive 3 points, with 5 goals in just over an hour!

Bala got off to a very quick start with only 5 minutes gone before taking the lead! Tom Lloyd finishes gets the ball on a plate, as he gets on the end of a Joe Ephraim cross at the back post and hits it past the keeper, onto the post and in! 1-0 Bala!

A solid start to the game by Bala saw them hold on to most of the possesion, just a little slack with their passes.

Joe had an attempt on goal not long after, but saw his effort drag wide.

Bala were forced into an early sub, as Tom Lloyd hobbled off after 20 minutes, and saw Darrell Johns take his place.

It took until 35 minutes for the next goal, and it went Bala’s way! Joe Ephraim turns from provider to goalscorer, as Jack Jarvis whips a beauty of a cross into the box, where Joe is waiting, and he heads it past the keeper to make it 2-0!

Bala dominating the ball for majority of the half, as they put a beautiful attacking combination together, but unfortunately as Jack pulled the ball back to Cai on the edge of the box, his shot was saved well by the keeper.

Only took a couple more minutes until Bala made it 3! A cross from the near side by Darrell is met by Sully who heads the ball in from the back post, to give Bala a healthy lead going into half time!

Although, a minute before halftime, the visitors were awarded a penalty, after a collision in the box between a Johnstown player and a Bala defender. Johnstown converted the spot kick to make it 3-1 going into half time.

A half time substitution was made, as Dave Yates took Andy Kelly’s place.

A call of Deja Vu was called after a minute of the second half… Sully made it 4-1 to Bala! With an identical look for his first goal, a cross in by Darrell to the back post, which saw Sully nod the ball in past the keeper! 4-1 Bala!

On 57 minutes Johnstowns were awarded a penalty, for a reason no one knew, but they stepped up to take the kick… AND DION SAVED IT! A great save down low to his left to keep Johnstown from getting their 2nd! Still 4-1 Bala!

Steve Jones then got in on the act! A few minutes later Steve made it 5! Lovely build up play again by Bala, and Cai’s shot originally was saved which rebounded to Steve who poked home for 5!

The remainder of the game was slow, with hardly any chances on goal, which saw Bala finish with 5 goals in the bag, and a big 3 points going into the last month of the year.
