The reserves head into their first competitive game!
Our reserves squad will host CPD Caerwys to Maes Tegid for their first competitive game on Wednesday night (7th of August) They finish their pre-season campaign with 3 draws and 2 defeats, although there were many positives to take out of pre-season.
Following a 2-2 draw with Ruthin Town Development last Tuesday (30th of July) the reserves will head into their first competitive game as massive underdogs as they look to reach the 2nd round of the NEWFA Cup.
A massive boost to the reserves is that, 3 squad members were called up to the first team, for their 3-0 win over Rushall Olympic last Saturday (3rd of August) (Match Report) Cai Aykroyd, Steve Jones and Jack Jarvis were called up, however only Cai and Jack were available to feature. The experience of being involved in a Cymru League set up will be a massive boost to whole reserve squad, as that experience will carry over to all the lads involved with the reserves.
Throughout their pre-season campaign, the reserves have shown great team spirit despite results not always going their way. Every single individual looks to aid others, and that’s what they’ll need in a tough test against such outfit of Caerwys.
Our reserves will head into August with 7 games ahead of them, therefore commitment and desire will be needed throughout the whole of this grueling first month.
