A Saturday morning fixture awaits our reserves.

Our reserves head into their 3rd pre-season fixture of their campaign, where they will host Saltney Town Reserves on Saturday morning (20th of July) at 11:00am.

Our opponents for this fixture will also be in the same league as the reserves come August time. Therefore this will be a great test for the lads to see what level of opposition they will be up against this upcoming season.

Following a 4-0 defeat in our previous pre-season game against Blaenau Amateurs (Match Report) our reserves will look to take the positives from that game into their upcoming fixture, where they were able to keep a second half clean sheet against impressive opposition.

In their previous fixture, Saltney Town Reserves were overcome by a 6-3 scoreline against Mold Alexander Reserves. Nevertheless our reserves know little about their opposition and will look forward to the challenge ahead and will hope for a positive result.

Following our reserves’ defeat to Blaenau Amateurs, manager Adam Galdo gave a quick interview. He was asked about what positives that the lads could take from their defeat to Blaenau Amateurs and said this: ‘There are many positives to take out of the match, the lads worked hard against a tier 3 side with experience and quality, who were really organised and fit. Nobody threw the towel in and that is the minimum for the season ahead, everyone to give 100% regardless of the scoreline or performance’

Galdo was also asked about what he would try to build on in the upcoming matches prior to the start of our league campaign, he responded with this: ‘Obviously over the coming weeks, we will working to nail down tactics, work on our shape and find the strongest squad needed to compete in a physical league. We are under no illusion about how difficult it is going to be for us, but we will be ready for it, I am certain of that!’

Lastly Galdo was asked about the upcoming fixture, and responded with this: ‘In regards to our next game, we will keep putting the effort in on the training ground and look to implement it during our upcoming match. I can’t speak highly enough about the lads so far. It is a great group and we are improving with every week that passes. I will be asking for more of the same’
