Under 14’s seal 2-0 win to be crowned Champions of Wales.

Sunday saw the National Final of the Under 14’s age group with the Lakesiders facing south Wales champions Penybont at Latham Park, Newtown.

Town had an incredibly bright start and set the tone from the outset and could’ve been ahead after only four minutes of play when Williams’ ball into the area hit the base of the post by Cooke.

Following 21 minutes of sustained pressure, Bala took the lead. A corner by Knight was swung in and Cooke bundled the ball over the line from around two yards out.

Bala were playing full of confidence and has further opportunities to go extend their lead when Knight’s effort goes wide of the upright, a deep freekick wasn’t capitalised and then the Lakesiders firing over the crossbar from the edge of the area.

Alex Cyra burst into the area, shaking off three markers but curled his effort narrowly wide just prior to the interval.

Following the break, Town had another excellent chance to add a second when Cooke from near edge saw his strike go inches wide of the post.

Our opponents had a good spell themselves but were unable to take advantage of their pressure.

Bala were fantastic all over the pitch with Owen, Ellis, Williams and Cyra pulling the strings in midfield with Price and Rowlandson doing brilliantly at the back.

Midway through the half, Bala hit the bar once again before a superb header came from the left and flashed across the face of goal.

In the 67th minute, Bala had their deserved second when Knight’s daisycutter from the edge of the box bounced into the back of the net from the base of the post making it 2-0.

A massive congratulations to Jordan, Jack, Alwyn and the lads for an excellent season that saw them go unbeaten throughout, crowned North Wales Champions and now National Champions with a fantastic team performance today to be proud of. Llongyfarchiadau enfawr i chi gyd.
