On Sunday, the Under 10’s and 11’s travelled to The Rock to take part in a tournament hosted by Cefn Druids.

The U11’s secured 4 wins, 3 draws and two losses – read about how they got on below!

Overall, happy with the majority of our play. We encouraged both fullbacks to go forward at every opportunity with Ows probably delivering the most consistent high level of performance I’ve seen the season. Iolo on the other side slow to start off with but got better as tournament went on.

From the first game the tempo was set, Deio who’s work rate was phenomenal throughout the day, Dafydd showing another side to his game, was calm in possession and moving it quickly. Our levels dropped against Bangor and we were lucky to get a draw and deservedly lost to Newtown.

We lost Owen P to injury halfway though the tournament added to the loss through illness of Iestyn in the morning meant we had no outfield replacement to freshen the team up. But fair play they didn’t stop, Deio running himself to a standstill in the last game that we had to bring Rhys the goalie on but we still pressed forward against Chester.

Another player that deserves huge credit is Huw, who has slotted in to a totally new position and given both fullback the confidence to bomb forward. The performance against Chester was probably the most pleasing as we had nothing left in the tank and only team spirit pulled them through to get a deserved draw.
