Excellent team effort sees Town pick up point against The Saints.
Town will be extremely happy with their performance and display on Friday evening but also coming away thinking, should we have walked away with all three?
Things didn’t start as planned however as the visitors took the lead with only 11 minutes on the clock. A corner kick from Chris Seargeant was swung towards an unmarked Blaine Hudson who headed the ball into the net.
The visitors had plenty of the play in the early stages as Ryan Brobbel curls over the crossbar from outside the area prior to another Brobbel effort going wide of the far upright.
However on the half hour mark, TNS were dealt a huge blow as Chris Marriott hacked Henry Jones who was racing down the wing into the box and was sent for an early shower.
The resulting freekick on the edge of the area was swung in by Jones and arrived to Miley at the backpost who couldn’t get enough of a clean strike on the ball and it went wide.
Bala were growing in confidence and almost equalised before the interval when Venables got on the end of cross and his chance went soared over the bar.
Town started very well in the second half as they looked to get back on level terms.
A golden opportunity fell to Steven Tames on the edge of the six yard box when after a scramble in the area, his shot went flying over the crossbar.
Nathan Burke’s low strike from almost 30 yards took a deflection and out for a corner. The resulting corner kick arrived to Venables but the it was hacked off the line with Venables ending up in the net but the ball not so much!
The spell of pressure from Bala paid off as on the 66th minute as Tames connected brilliantly on the end of Henry Jones’ stunning delivery to power home with his header to bring the game to 1-1.
From the restart, TNS had a massive opportunity to go back ahead when Mullan was brought down in the area and the referee pointing to the spot. Dean Ebbe stepped up but Ashley Morris on his 200th WPL appearance make a superb low save to his right and keep the game at 1-1.
Bala were finishing strongly and they had numerous chance to nick a winner in the closing stages.
Kieran Smith curling effort was solidly turned around the post by Harrison prior to Danny Gosset rattling the crossbar from outside the area.
In added time, a huge Bala chance went begging as a cross trickled inches wide.
An impressive performance by the Lakesiders who will be very pleased with their endevours ahead of another tough test away at Llanelli next weekend.
