We meet the people behind the scenes at Maes Tegid who devote their time of being not only a supporter of the Lakesiders but also a committee member in a series of interviews called ‘Who’s Who’.

Next up, meet Rhian and Mared

Tell us a bit about you!
RhianI’m married to Keith, I have 2 daughters and 1 son and six grandchildren. I live in Bala and worked at Co-op for 26 years. My hobbies besides Bala Town are baking cakes, reading and holidaying in Corfu.

MaredI live with my mum and dad, two sisters and one brother. I am in my final year in Ysgol y Berwyn. My hobbies are watching Bala Town are listening to music.

How long have you been watching the Bala Town? How did you start watching the Lakesiders and what made you start?
Rhian – I have been watching Bala Town for some years now when I was in school as it was only across the playground and have carried on since the past eight years.

Mared I have been watching Bala Town for the past six years. I started watching the Lakesiders as I saw how much my nain enjoyed it.

What is your role at the Club? What do you do on a matchday?
On matchday, we both work in the Club Shop.

How would you describe Bala Town F.C.?
They have come a long way since the Cymru Alliance. A small friendly club.

What is your favourite moments following the Lakesiders and why?
Our favourite moment is when they won against TNS in the Welsh Cup.

Who do you think is the best player that has worn the Bala Town shirt over the period you have supported them and why?
Our best player to have worn the Bala shirt since we have supported them is Stuart Jones who is a strong defender. Ashley Morris is the best goalkeeper ever here too!

What does Bala Town mean to you?
Bala is our hometown club and it has us on the edge of our seats during some games! But we are both proud to be Bala Town supporters.

Which player signing has made you go ‘wow’ and why?
The signing that made us go ‘waw’ was John Irving – a very talented player that got us into the Europa League for the first time.

What do you think is the next step for Bala Town F.C.?
Onwards and keep up the hardwork for success in the future.
