Our series of ‘Who’s Who’ continues!
This week, it’s John Roberts…
Tell us a bit about you!
My name is John Roberts. I am 18 years old and living in Bala, just a stone throw away from the ground with the family; my two brothers and my mother and father. Away from the club I am working as a craft apprentice at Qioptia UK Ltd and I also have a keen interest in motorsport.
How long have you been watching the Bala Town? How did you start watching the Lakesiders and what made you start?
I have been watching Bala for 8 years. I started watching a number of games with my father and ever since I have been hooked.
What is your role at the Club? What do you do on a matchday?
My role at the club is security officer. During a matchday I work with my father and fellow stewards to manage the people in the ground and to maintain and to inspect the area before a matchday
How would you describe Bala Town F.C.?
I would sum up Bala Town F.C. as a community club with it’s roots in the town. It’s an opportunity to socialise with the people around us and also a chance to be part of the future success of the club.
What is your favourite moments following the Lakesiders and why?
One of my favourtie moments following Bala is last year’s Welsh Cup win. This was a snapshot of how successful this club can beand also a good example of the team spirit we have here.
Who do you think is the best player that has worn the Bala Town shirt over the period you ave supported them and why?
In my opinion the best player I have seen over the period I have watched Bala is Mark Jones. His commitment always showed when he played and he was always a commanding player.
What does Bala Town mean to you?
Bala Town to me means a family and a team. We always stay together and work together to work towards a successful future for the club.
Which player signing has made you go ‘wow’ and why?
The signing that has caught my eye the most up to now has to be our summer signing of Les Davies from Connah’s Quay. I would never have dreamt of signing a player of such popularity and stature.
Sum up this season thus far in one sentence?
In order to sum up this season I would say that it has been a rollercoaster ride. A tough start but persistence has paid off to get us to where we are today.
What do you think is the next step for Bala Town F.C.?
I would hope that the next step for Bala would be success and hopefully progressing further in European football.
