Tale of two halves at Maesdu Park!
At a windy Llandudno it was a game of two totally different halves of football with the points shared in the end.
It was a poor opening 45 minutes from the Lakesiders who looked out of sorts. From the outset, it was Llandudno who got a hold of the game – James Joyce’s shot was saved by Morris with only two minutes played before Marc Williams fired over the bar a few minutes later.
New Dudno signing Wes Baynes tested Morris who pushed away his effort but with 21 minutes on the clock they took a deserved lead. A break down the right saw a cross headed into the net by Marc Williams at the backpost.
The home sides dominance continued with Mike Williams driving over the crossbar and then Toby Jones beating three Town players to release Joyce who found Baynes but he volleyed over.
Improvement was needed by the Lakesiders in the second half and thankfully it came.
Lewis Short was introduced shortly into the second half and it kick started things for the Lakesiders.
Our two new Lakesiders Disney and Short combined down the wing and the attack led to a corner showing Town’s fresh second half intentions.
A break on the left saw Sheridan’s cross cleared by Williams to win Town a corner which was then headed over by Jones.
Bell came close from another Town corner before Horwood’s freekick picked out Jones but his strike didn’t have enough power and was collected by Roberts.
Bala were really taking the game to Llandudno with Lewis Short’s opportunity blocked on the line prior to Hayes’ shot toe-poked away by Dix.
With 78 minutes on the clock, Town were level. Evan Horwood’s corner picked out Les Davies who’s header was flicked towards the far post which Disney got to the end of to ensure the ball went into the net!
The final ten minutes saw Llandudno drop deep as they tried to hold on to a point but even though Town put late pressure on them, the points were to be shared and over the course of the 90 minutes was a fair outcome.
Town travel to Barry Town United for our final game before the league split next Saturday.
