Barry Town United make their first ever visit to Maes Tegid this weekend.

Saturday afternoon will see the first meeting between the Lakesiders and Barry Town United. The outfit from Jenner Park are no strangers to the Welsh Premier League with 7 League titles to their name, numerous appearances in European competitions and being a fan owned Club.

In 2006 they were relegated but from 2007 the Club started their incredible road to recovery appointing Gavin Chesterfield as manager and the supporters launching the ‘Stand Up For Barry’ campaign in 2010. The Barry Town Supporters’ Committee took over the Club from their former owner and the High Court allowed them to re-enter the Welsh League structure after months of uncertainty.

Two consecutive League titles followed seeing them reach the Welsh Football Division One in 2015. The installation of a 3G at Jenner Park and the off pitch developments saw the Club grow ever more and their return to the WPL was secured back in April.

Since their return, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster for United with 2 draws, 3 wins and 4 losses in their first 9 games losing 3-1 at home to Cefn Druids last weekend – sitting only a point ahead of the Lakesiders in the table.

Last Thursday saw the Lakesiders pick up a vital three points away at Newtown with a Jordan Evans brace and strike from Mike Hayes lifting the Lakesiders up to 8th in the table.

Chris Venables returns following his suspension and Bala are close to full strength with Evan Horwood likely to return.

Kickoff – 2.30p.m.
