It’s back to Belle Vue on Thursday night!
Thursday sees the return leg of our First Qualifying match v AIK with Town trailing 2-0 after a narrow defeat in Stockholm last week.
Town put in a solid defensive performance and are full of positivity and belief going into this week’s game that they can get a result to send them into the Second Qualifying Round.
A lot was learned in Stockholm about the quality of our opposition who were a team full of ability, skill and comfortably the most difficult and challenging outfit the Club have ever faced. The visitors are due in the UK on Wednesday afternoon where they shall train at Belle Vue on Wednesday evening prior to Thursday’s game. We will them and their supporters a safe journey over to the UK.
It is also going to be a different experience for our visitors who normally play at their 55,000 Friends Arena Stadium, to appear at an intimidating packed Belle Vue with around 200 travelling supporters expected.
Speaking at the press conference following last week’s game, manager Colin Caton spoke of his pride of his players’ performances;
“I’m proud of all the players for how they performed in such a high profile game,” he said. “There was a great atmosphere in the stadium, and we’re, looking forward to Rhyl next week now with everything to play for.”
The Lakesiders found themselves in the same position last season, coming into the game v FC Differdange trailing 3-1 but won the home leg 2-1 so there’s no doubt the boys can take inspiration from last season’s result ahead of Thursday night. Bala are at full strength going into the game.

Prima are first time sponsors and we would like to thank them for their generous support and hope you enjoy the game on Thursday evening. Our ball sponsors are the Spitzmaul family from Hereford. Originally from Bala, the Spitzmauls have had to relocate to Hereford owing to work, but they make it back to Bala as often as they can to follow the Lakesiders. The Spitzmauls were also represented in Luxemburg last year, they also traveled to Tallinn for our first ever appearence in the Europa Cup three years ago and were our in Stockholm last week cheering on the boys. Thank you all as always for your support.
